Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical catapults audiences back to the neon-soaked nostalgia of the 1980s! Packed with high-energy musical numbers, outrageous character send-ups, and clever winks at the beloved Netflix series, the show flips the Upside Down right-side up as it follows the kids of Hawkins, Indiana on their hilariously heightened adventure. Eleven belts, Barb gets her due, the Demogorgon dances, and every fan-favorite moment from the first season gets lovingly skewered with a pop-theatre sensibility.
With a synth-driven score, an immersive comic-book-meets-campfire aesthetic, and a tone that balances affectionate parody with whip-smart humor, Stranger Sings! celebrates the heart and friendships at the core of the original while delighting newcomers with its manic fun. The result is a joyously off-beat musical ride—equal parts nostalgia trip, spoof, and love letter to a cultural phenomenon. Whether you’re a superfan or simply love a clever send-up, this musical promises a weird, wild, and wonderfully upside-down night at the theatre.

Music with guide vocals can be found on Spotify and Apple Music. Please remember that the original version of this show has some bad language and some topics that are inappropriate for kids. Our version of the show has been made kid friendly but they did not provide us with any guide vocal tracks. So, we will have to use the original cast recordings as listening examples. We will not be using any bad language or mentioning anything that may be inappropriate for kids in our production.

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:30–6:30pm
(Some performers may be asked to stay until 7:00pm on some Tuesdays and Thursdays to work solo or in small groups with the directors.)
There will be some Saturday rehearsals based on participant availability.
Tech Rehearsals:

COSTUMES
We will provide costumes for this show but you may be asked to provide some items that you already own such as jeans, t-shirts, etc. Cast members always need to provide their own "under costume" clothes. These are clothes worn under their costumes that make it possible for everyone to change outfits backstage together and to keep our costumes clean.
FEES
Program Tuition: $695 per student to be paid at the time of registration.
There is a processing fee of 3.5% for credit card payments.
Financial Aid is available upon request.
TICKETS
$15 each
Tickets will be sold on our TicketLeap ticketing website.
As with all online ticketing sites, there will be an additional fee for online purchased. The fee charged by Ticketleap.com is $1 + 2% of the event ticket price (plus a 3% online transaction fee per order). If there are any tickets available the day of the show, tickets will be sold at the door without any fees but we cannot guarantee that there will be tickets available at that time.
