PLOT

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another in a way they never could have imagined. In the end, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between a mother and daughter in this heartfelt and hilarious adaptation.

Based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter - the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood" - and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal.

A Little About Us...

Jeanette Airen Performing Arts Studio is a safe space for young performers to learn and grow in an encouraging environment. We offer classes, lessons and musical theater productions for kids and teens but we also love producing musicals with adult casts. Freaky Friday is the perfect show to join both with a cast of adults and teens. We will also be producing the show with our summer camp and would love our main stage cast to support them if possible.

At our intimate black box theater, we specialize in crafting immersive experiences that captivate our audience. We encourage performers to bring any costume pieces they already own, and we'll take care of the rest. No need for our cast members to worry about purchasing anything for the show—we've got you covered.
Positivity is our mantra, and we strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone can thrive. Leave negativity at the door and join us in creating magical moments on stage.
